We’re Fulltime RVers!
July 2, 2023
We’ve spent the last month downsizing, finding an RV we could live in year round, and getting our house ready to rent out, but we’ve officially been on the road and living in our camper since last weekend!
We’ve thought about full time RVing a few times over the past couple of years to travel with Dave but I had a full time job 2 years ago and was pregnant last year. Fortunately, we were lucky enough last year to have Dave work close enough to home to come home almost every night. But last year wasn’t the norm, and this year is going to require a lot more traveling and staying out of town most weeks, which is ultimately what tipped us over the edge in finally getting the family out of the house and into the RV!
The past few years have been pretty hectic with Dave traveling for work, Payton being in school and activities, and me working full time and then part time. Traveling will have its challenges too, but our hope is that being together for them will make them more manageable.
Through our hectic times we had given up social media to maximize the family time that we did get, but now that we’ll have more time together along with less time traveling for Dave, and less time juggling kids and activities for me, we’ll have more time to post updates!
We’ve had friends and family at home ask how we’re doing and what we’re up to so here’s the gist of what we’ll be doing:
Traveling to a different town every week or two for work, most likely in Nebraska and Kansas, and maybe Colorado.
Homeschooling Payton (never thought I’d be up to trying homeschooling - tips appreciated!)
Hopefully some traveling for fun in the off season!
We’ve hit some road bumps that I’ll post about later, but overall it’s been SO worth the steps we’ve taken to do this! It’s only our first week but so far my highlights are having someone to drink coffee with every morning and having dinner as a family every evening!
